Who is Kiro for?

Kiro is intended for people generally over 18 years old who are able to enter into obligations in accordance with French legislation. Accordingly, access to the Kiro platform and its services is reserved for natural persons over 18 years of age.

The Kiro platform is intended for personal use, or for the care pathway for healthcare professionals authorized by the laboratory or the patient to access medical biology results.

Question 2

I am a minor or the parent of a minor.

Accepted Answer

For minors, vulnerable adults or adults subject to a legal protection measure, registration and access to the Kiro platform are the responsibility of the legal representative(s) (parents, guardians). Minors therefore access their Kiro account, in most cases, under the responsibility of their legal representative(s).

What does Kiro do to ensure the protection of personal data?

Kiro attaches fundamental importance to the protection and security of personal data. The confidentiality of this data and respect for privacy are among our top priorities. Kiro is committed to protecting personal data in accordance with applicable regulations, including Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016, known as "GDPR", and French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 as amended, known as the "Loi Informatique et Libertés". Personal health data is hosted in Europe by providers that have received the HDS (Health Data Hosting) certification, introduced by the French Digital Health Agency (Agence du Numérique en Santé, ANS).

What is phishing?

Accepted Answer

Phishing is a form of online fraud. The fraudster impersonates an organization you know (a bank, the tax authority, a benefits agency, etc.) by using its logo and name, in order to ask you to "update" or "confirm your information following a technical incident". By confirming this information or by clicking on a fraudulent link, the user exposes themselves to having their data collected in an illegitimate framework and/or for criminal purposes. As Kiro and its partner laboratories are companies known to the general public, it is possible that they attract the attention of people trying to impersonate them. This is a phenomenon that is impossible to prevent.

Question 6

The email I received looks like one from Kiro but seems suspicious — what should I do?

Accepted Answer

If you do not recognize the information contained in a message received by email, it may be a phishing attempt rather than a legitimate message sent by Kiro. Always check that the sender's email address ends with @kiro.bio and that the URL shown in your browser's address bar is indeed app.kiro.bio. Please note that Kiro does not send you your biology results directly by email as an attachment, and does not ask you to provide personal information by email, including information relating to your health.

Question 7

What should I do when I receive a fraudulent message?

Accepted Answer

As a general rule, never share confidential information (login, password, banking details) by email. If you believe the email is fraudulent, do not click on its content, delete it and mark it as SPAM. If in doubt, contact us at support@kiro.bio. If you have accidentally provided information related to your Kiro account, change your password as soon as possible. Similarly, if you received an email from Kiro without having had any medical biology tests done recently, contact us at info@kiro.bio.
